I drink a good deal of Hefeweizen and most of it is imported from Germany. I have loved this beer style for over 20 years. My favorite is Schneider Weisse Tap 7 by far. This is @goodwordbrewing Isabella Hefeweizen 4.9% ABV. This is one of the best Hefeweizen made in Georgia and probably the Southeastern U.S. I dare you to blind taste this vs most German imports and I doubt you can tell the difference. Isabella is flawlessly executed, well crafted Hefe and it's available right here in the Atlanta area. Well done @goodwordbeer!
Born on this day, August 4, 1901, Louis Armstrong. One of the greatest musicians and entertainers of all time. Here's to you Pops, thanks for all the wonderful music! 🍻
@nofobrewco Fire On The Mountain 6.3% ABV. This is a Red IPA. I've had one other Red IPA and this seems a little tricky to pull off. Not a WC IPA. Not a NEIPA. Malt bill can vary to get that reddish tint. Made with Chinook & Amarillo hops. Hops give it a citrus & pine aroma with a moderate bitterness. Malt bill provides a nice balance to the bitterness with some caramel and slight chocolate notes. I like this because it has a more complex malt bill making it interesting and balancing the hops characteristics. Thanks @nofochase for the insight, not something I run across a lot. Not the typical IPA we see nowdays. Definitely worth a try for the beer geeks and IPA fans out there.
@mainebeerco Peeper Pale Ale. This is another terrific summer beer. Light to medium bodied. Amarillo, Cascade & Centennial hops provide citrus & tropical fruit notes with a moderate bitterness. Nicely balanced pale ale.
@goodwordbrewing is making some of the best beers in Georgia. Especially the more classic styles like this Season of the Whale English Bitter. Checks in at a sessionable 4.4% ABV. Excellent brewery.
